This is a very serious Merlot which can only be grown under ideal conditions. It is a wonderful accompaniment with food and will continue to develop with cellaring.

Burgess Syrah Napa Valley

This wine shows the classic varietal fruit qualities of ôblackberry-likeö along with the complements of one-half American oak and one-half French oak barrel aging. This is a perfect wine to enjoy with cheese, light hors d'oeuvres, and, of course, barbecued foods.

Burgess Zinfandel Napa Valley

This was an early harvest, even for a mountain-grown wine. It was fermented in rotary fermenters, which build the extraction, and at the same time keep the tannin levels in the correct proportion. The wine is extremely full in aroma and taste. This wine will complement most food with its Mediterranean style.

The nose is packed with peach, citrus and green apple backed by tropical fruit, spice butter and vanilla. The palate is rich and bold with fine acid and toasty oak providing structure and complexity.
